Job Description

Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center is looking for a cause-driven, energetic leader who is ready for the opportunity to make the camp experience equitable and inclusive through our school-based Integrated Education (I.E.) Program. Our I.E. Program serves over 50 schools throughout the year and facilitates a camp experience grounded in social & emotional learning in an engaging way. The Integrated Education Program Director is responsible for day-to-day operations and management of our existing school relationships, including hiring and training seasonal staff and overseeing our overnight, day, and in-school programs. Our ideal candidate is passionate about living and leading with the four core principles of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility and will have several years of program management and youth development experience.

Note: This position is required to live onsite at Sherman Lake YMCA, be easily and readily accessible for problem-solving and be able to respond, as necessary, when groups are onsite for our Integrated Education programs. This may occur for both day and overnight groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Integrated Education Program Director (IEPD) is responsible for consistently demonstrating Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility (HCRR), in words, actions, and interactions with all staff, campers, and the community.

  • The IEPD is responsible for inspiring and maintaining an Integrated Education (IE) staff that builds healthy relationships that model empathy, personal development, responsibility, and emotional regulation; and engagement that values diversity, inclusion, equity, and global consciousness.

  • The IEPD is responsible for all aspects of IE programming; ensuring all aspects of program needs are communicated, understood, and coordinated with all stakeholders - staff, school personnel, campers, and their caretakers.

  • The IEPD is responsible for aspects of operational management and coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Youth Development, Education, Outdoor Recreation or related field and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  • YMCA Team or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.

  • Two or more years of program management experience, preferably in a non-profit youth development agency.

  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and program development.

  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.

  • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.

  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of our community.

  • Obtain and maintain a current CPR/First Aid certification. Must complete within 30 days of hire.

  • Obtain and maintain a Responding to Emergencies or Wilderness First Responder certification. Must complete within 1 year of hire.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range: $35,568-$45,000
