Housekeeper - Weekends

Under the direction of the Member Services Director, the Housekeeper - Weekends, in accordance with the operating policies of the Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center, is responsible for housekeeping functions at the Austenfeld Recreation Center on Saturdays and Sundays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, bathroom cleaning, painting, vacuuming/shampooing carpets and cleaning hard floors, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.

  • May set up furniture for events.

  • Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor; follow emergency response plan procedure.

  • Safely use and maintain assigned power equipment, hand tools, chemicals and supplies and assist with inventory control and security.

  • Use ladders when required in work assignments.

  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants.

  • Check if furniture, equipment, supplies and tools are in their proper location, and move if necessary.

  • Launder cleaning rags, dust mops and towels.

  • Attend safety meetings and other required meetings.

  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
