Assistant Barn Coordinator

The Assistant Barn Coordinator reports directly to the Barn Coordinator and assists in whatever aspects are required. This may include supervision, health and well-being of the horses and equipment, campers, participants and staff as they utilize the equestrian facilities. This is a seasonal full-time position.

Assistant Day Camp Director

Directly supervised and under the direction of the Day Camp Director, the Assistant Day Camp Director co-assumes responsibility for the summer day camp operation, including the supervision and mentoring of Summer Day Camp Staff and Leaders, and the program planning and development of Day Camp. This position is in charge of Day Camp in the absence of the Day Camp Director.

Assistant Overnight Camp Director

Directly supervised and under the direction of the Overnight Camp Director, the Assistant Overnight Camp Director co-assumes responsibility for the Summer Overnight Camp operation, including the supervision and mentoring of Summer Overnight Camp Staff and Leaders, and the program planning and development of Overnight Camp. This position is in charge of Overnight Camp in the absence of the Overnight Camp Director.

Barn Coordinator

The Barn Coordinator (Head Wrangler) is responsible for the overall supervision, health and well-being of the horses and equipment, campers, participants and staff as they utilize the equestrian facilities. This position is under the supervision of the Director of Camping Services. This is a seasonal full-time position.

Health Officer

Health Officers are responsible for the safety of campers and staff while at camp under the supervision of the Camp Nurse, Director of Camping, Day Camp Directors and the Resident Camp Directors.

Horse Wrangler

Wranglers are directly responsible for horses and equipment as well as the well-being of campers, participants, and members under the supervision of the Barn Manager, the Director of Camping and the Day and Overnight Camp Directors.

Inclusion Counselor

Inclusion Counselors will work closely with the Inclusion Director and must be flexible with their schedule in order to work in either the Day Camp or Overnight Camp setting depending on need. Responsibilities will focus on creating an environment of inclusion, acceptance, and encouragement for a camper that will need additional assistance for their camp experience. This counselor will also assist the cabin/camper group to recognize their roles in creating a whole group experience.

Junior Counselor

Junior Counselors are responsible for attending to both day and overnight camps in their various needs throughout the summer under the supervision of the Day Camp Director and Overnight Camp Director.

Summer Camp Coordinator

Directly supervised by the Day Camp Director and the Overnight Camp Director, the Summer Program Coordinator positions assume responsibility for the entire summer camp operation, including the supervision and mentoring of assigned Staff, and the program planning and development. As needed, these positions will serve as co-counselors in the overnight camp program.

Summer Camp Counselor

Counselors are directly responsible for the program leadership and well-being of campers, participants and members under the supervision of the Overnight Camp Director and the Day Camp Director. Program Instructor

Directly supervised by the Day Camp Director and the Overnight Camp Director, the Program Instructors assume responsibility for the entire summer camp program, including the mentoring of staff at their assigned program area, and the program planning and development of the specialty area as well as serving as co-counselors in the overnight camp program.

Transportation Director

The Transportation Director is a liaison between program staff and the office. The major function is to efficiently maintain transportation camper information and ensure the children's safety and parent satisfaction.

Waterfront Coordinator

The Waterfront Coordinator works under the supervision of the Waterfront Director and in consultation with the Director of Camping, Education and Retreat Services to create and coordinate all aspects of a high-quality aquatic atmosphere that serves the needs of our campers. The highest standards of safety will be evident in every aspect of the waterfront program. The ability to manage multiple tasks and work with all members of the staff is essential.

Waterfront Director

Under the supervision of the SLYMCA Outdoor Center Aquatic Director, and/or the Director of Camping Services, the responsibility of the Waterfront Director is to create and coordinate all aspects of a high-quality aquatic atmosphere that truly serves the needs of our campers. All aspects of the waterfront program will reinforce the four principles of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. The Waterfront Director is responsible for maintaining the highest safety standards in every aspect of the waterfront program. This person will work closely with all members of the Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center Program staff. The ability to manage multiple tasks and work with all people is essential.
