 Sherman Lake YMCA Memberships are open to everyone. We are an independent "Young Men's Christian Association".
Our corporate philosophy is to be Honest, Caring, Respectful, and Responsible in everything we do.
Benefits of membership to the Sherman Lake YMCA include:

- Free admittance during scheduled times to the pool, climbing wall, skate park, designated member walking trails, Fitness Center, gym, fitness classes and custom fitness program design.
- Members must be 13 or older to use the fitness center.
- Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Children must be at least 7 years old to swim in the pool unaccompanied by an adult. This includes all paid and non-paid programs.
- Discount on Sherman Lake YMCA Camping and Wellness Center Programs (like swim lessons).

- Membership to the "Always Welcome at YMCAs" program, welcomes you at YMCA's all over the country while you are traveling. Our fee is one/half the quest fee and other YMCA may also have a fee.
- Membership at Sherman Lake YMCA gives you limited usage of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo YMCAs. We recommend that you join the YMCA that you and your family will use the most.
- The knowledge that your membership fees help keep this valuable community asset open and viable.
- Pool, gym, fitness center, locker rooms, indoor climbing wall, high ropes and rafters course, outdoor multi-purpose courts, and 2.5 miles of walking or hiking member trails.

Joiners Fee
The joiner fee is used to upgrade equipment and purchase new items for the Wellness Center. The joiner fee for members is currently equal to three months fee. Members do have the oppportunity to amortize the joiners fee over a 6 month period when utilizing Monthly Draft payment options.

Scholarships are available for those who cannot afford the full membership fees,
please inquire at the Administration Center or call 269- 731-3000.
 As part of a new $31 million initiative from the Armed Services YMCA and Department of Defense Outreach Initiative, Sherman Lake YMCA provides a free 18-month membership for any active duty military personnel, their spouse, and children. This partnership allows military families to access youth development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programs.
Membership fees are underwritten by the Department of Defense and administered through Military OneSource, an information and referral service for military families.
 Those eligible to participate:
- All interested families of joint deployed National Guard and Reserves of all military branches
- Families living in newly established Joint Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) bases;
- Active Duty Independent Duty station personnel and their families; and
- Relocated spouses and family members of deployed Active Duty personnel.
How to apply:
- Need to provide deployment papers
- Must present an active Military id
- Visit Sherman Lake YMCA Recreation Center to fill out a Military Membership Application.

Members may bring guests to the Sherman Lake YMCA for a daily rate.

Annual and monthly payment options are available. We accept automatic withdrawal (EFT) from Savings or Checking accounts, VISA and MasterCard.
*If a household pays for a full 12 month annual membership, a $25.00 credit will be applied directly to your membership payment, or can be applied toward any Recreation Center program. |
If, at some time you no longer desire to be a member, you may cancel at anytime. You must either:
- Notify us in writing and return your membership card.
- Come in person and turn in your membership card and fill out the member exit survey.
There are no refunds or prorated membership fees and you will be subject to paying the current joiner fee upon renewal.

* The percentage is the discount off the regular fee. For example, if there are two adults and an 11 year old child in a household with a household income of $40,000, then their monthly fee would be $45 for the first adult + $22.50 for the second adult + $11 for the child = $78.50 – 55% ($43.18) = $35.32 a month. The one time joiner fee (unless a member quits and then rejoins) is always 3 times the monthly rate, and would be based on the reduced monthly rate. |
