Pilates (pronounced puh-LAH-teez)is a series of controlled movements engaging your body and mind, performed on specifically designed exercise apparatus and Mat. It focuses on the "powerhouse" of the body (abdominal, lower back, neck and gluteus muscles). It will help stretch, strengthen, balance and lengthen muscles and the spinal column. Regardless of your current level of fitness, from sedentary office worker to fitness enthusiast Pilates can be your primary mode of body conditioning and injury prevention. Physical therapists, chiropractors and orthopedists have integrated it into rehabilitative exercise and physical therapy programs to speed recovery of soft tissue injuries.

Group Mat Classes: Joseph Pilates developed his mat work over 80 years ago and our instructors follow the original method to lengthen and strengthen the powerhouse (core) of the body, emphasis on abdominal strengthening and spine stabilization. Certified Instructors and apprentices lead classes’ at all three levels through the authentic method of Pilates (not seen on TV).
*As an introduction to Pilates, all members trying Pilates for the first time receive four (4) free Intro to Pilates Mat Class passes.

Private Sessions: Private Pilates sessions are offered one on one using all Studio Equipment (reformer, cadillac, barrell ladder, Wunda Chair) are available by appointment call (269) 731-3032.
