Woodland Elementary closes out September with a BANG!

September 29st through October 1 Sherman Lake welcomed Woodland Elementary School. Upon arriving students met their counselors and saw how sweet their cabins were decorated! Our days were with fun. Some of us built fires and made S’mores (yum!), climbed on our climbing wall, or Playacted in the pool while others tried to hit a bulls eye at archery, learned to work as a team, or channeled their inner Picasso at Arts and Crafts.
B-Will helps campers process their communication skills during a difficult challenge

Every camper is encouraged to set goals for themselves. This camper went past her goal and made it to the top!

If you think our days were packed with fun, so were our nights. On Monday night, students challenged members of the U.S. Olympic Dodge Ball team, their counselors, to a game of HCRR Dodge ball. Everyone worked hard to be Honest, Caring, Respectful, and Responsible. The students took down the staff team with much pride! Stellar job!

Tuesday night students had the chance to experience a part of U.S. History. Students were lead through camp by Conductors, their Counselors, while they made the journey North to Jubilee! All campers were successful and celebrated with a campfire to end the night.
Campers discuss their plan to go North with their conductor.
Our time at Sherman Lake concluded with a Pool Party on Wednesday morning. As we loaded the bus to head back to Woodland, campers took time to say goodbye to the coolest people they will ever meet and made sure to never forget their time here at Sherman Lake!
Goodbye Woodland!
